The Angel Food program is available to any and all persons in our community. There are no qualifications or restrictions.  There is no longer a requirement to purchase a Basic in order to purchase a Special.  Specials can be ordered without ordering a Basic.

Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78.Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

The Senior's Basic Box offeres 10 frozen dinners for $28.00.  There is also a Box of Allergen Free Food.  A Seafood Box is offered during the cooler months. Each month there are also from 3 to 7 Special options ranging in price from $18.00 - $35.00.

The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe. Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork.

FUMC has been a host site since December 2006. Orders are placed at the church office during office hours Monday through Friday during the first half of the month usually. Noted exceptions are November and December. After the order deadline, the food will arrive 10 days later for distribution in Hierholzer Hall on Saturday morning from 7:45-10 AM.

For those interested, arrangements have been made to distribute donated boxes of food or unwanted items to the Christian Cupboard or the church for distribution.

Food Stamp Hours:  No Saturday or Sunday hours.  Food Stamp/Lone Star Card orders are now taken on the last Mon-Wed. of the deadline week.

At FUMC  you can pay with Cash, Check, Credit or Debit Card (w/$2 surcharge), or Lone Star Card.

1.  Come to the church office to place your order. Cash and check, credit or debit card orders may be placed from distribution day until deadline. Food Stamp orders can only be accepted the last Sunday thru Wednesday of the deadline week and calling ahead to make an appointment would be helpful as sometmes there will be a wait to process the Lone Star Card order.

Orders may also be placed on-line at www,angelfoodministries.com or 1-877-366-3646 and paid for with a credit or debit card. A $2.00 surcharge will be added for this convenience.

       Hours during ordering period:
              Weekdays: 8:30 AM to Noon & 1:00 to 4:30 PM in church office
                             No Saturday or Sunday Hours at current time.

2.  On the day of food distribution, bring a clean, sturdy box for each Signature Box order you have placed. Pick up your food order and the following month's menu.
